If I had to pick one of my favorite days of the year, it would be Mother’s Day. Whether you’re a “mom” to kids, pets, or friends, it is that one special day to honor those remarkable women who’ve made a difference in your life.
There are lots of ways to be a mom! Weren’t some of us stuffed-animal-moms when we were kids? At age 5 I became mom to my teddy bear, Louise. She is still with me today!
From as far back as I can remember I dreamt of being a mom. I knew I wanted to create a wonderful environment for my babies to thrive. Little did I know that it would take several tries and lots of disappointment before my daughter Carlyn came into the world. Her brother David arrived 23 months later.
I considered motherhood a full time gig and loved every minute of it. Even now, looking back over the past 37 years, I know that every hiccup, swerve, bump in the road and challenge has taught me so much about life and about myself.
But let’s take it further….how about all the other moms on the planet….you know, the wild ones in our marshes, lakes and oceans. What about the moms we see in our forests prairies and swamps? All these wild moms teach us their nurturing ways if we just stop to look and appreciate.
Today, not only am I known as Carlyn and David’s mom, but I am also known as the Schnebliemama! I created these Schneblies and saw the joy they bring first hand. I am passionate about my whimsical little frog- like critters, and am thrilled to see Schneblies hopping into homes from coast to coast.
To all you women who have made a difference in someone’s life, CHEERS to you for your love, passion and vision!
Wishing all the Mother’s out there an amazing Mother’s Day from this enthusiastic Schnebliemama…:-)
